Long car trips can be challenging for both parents and children, but with a little planning, you can turn the journey into a fun and stress-free adventure. Here are some top tips to keep your kids happily entertained on those long drives:

1. Pack a Travel Activity Bag

Fill a bag with favourite books, colouring supplies, puzzles, and small toys. Having a dedicated bag keeps activities within reach and adds an element of surprise!

If you have young children between 1 and 6 Years, Project Montessori do some awesome toys that will keep your kids stimulated and engaged on long journeys. Check out the Busy Boards below.

The first board is great for nurturing your child's visual skills, motor development, concentration, physical coordination and strength, right from birth. They also do an LED Busy Board that enhances your child's motor skills and problem-solving abilities with hours of entertainment through endless button, wire, and light combinations. This highly interactive game is recommended for kids aged 1 to 6.

2. Play Audiobooks and Podcasts

Choose engaging stories or kid-friendly podcasts to keep their minds busy. Audiobooks are great for sparking imagination and can make the time fly by.

3. Use Technology Wisely

Tablets loaded with games, movies, or educational apps can be lifesavers. Remember to bring headphones and keep screen time balanced with other activities.

4. Play Classic Car Games

Games like 'I Spy,' '20 Questions,' or the 'License Plate Game' cost nothing and can entertain everyone for hours.

5. Plan Regular Breaks

Stop at rest areas or parks for quick stretches, snacks, and fresh air. Breaks help prevent boredom and make the journey more comfortable.

6. Sing Along and Make Music

Create a playlist of favourite sing-alongs or nursery rhymes. Singing together can lift everyone's spirits and make the miles pass quickly. Make sure to listen to the classic "Are We There Yet" by Musical Playground.

Final Tip: Preparation is key! Packing a variety of activities and planning regular stops will help ensure your long journey is smooth and fun for the whole family.
